This is a painting about interaction, friendship, and finding a sense of home in conversation. I was moved to paint  two scarlet macaws after reading about their very social and committed partnerships together in the upper canopies of the rainforest.
 As most people know, creatures native to rainforest ecosystems are threatened by mankind’s destructive industry there. This sobering fact is also meant to be a  part of this painting’s story. Perhaps it can remind us that we too are animals, wanting safe places to connect with one another.
